From when I started 6th form about 6 years ago I used to wear hair extensions all of the time, I was forever changing my hair different colours and therefore my hair was in really bad condition! I used to therefore always wear extensions every single day, I used to get them from my local hair shop down the road from my house or from ones in the city (Birmingham) or even from eBay. My hair was quite thin back then and I could get away with buying cheap hair extensions as they were thin like my hair. Here are a few photos of the hair colours and styles I have been:

Bright red nearly 4 years ago Jan 2010, short hair with long extensions:

A lot of bleaching to go back to a very light blonde with different dyed colours on the side, I often changed the colour a lot from black to red to purple etc. June 2010:

All bleach blonde, very short hair still with long extensions as it refused to grow which was my own fault, August 2010:

My hair was really short here because of the bleaching I used to have to put my extensions in really high to try to hide it, September 2010:

My hair with no extensions, I decided to go a bit darker blonde than the bleach blonde I was, my hair was about this short for all of 2010 but I always wore extensions. I wanted my hair to grow so I thought but dying it darker I wouldn't have to bleach it so much, December 2010:

I then decided to go even darker to a brown however I went too dark (not in this photo) it was going a dark golden brown which I didn't like and decided to go back to blonde after a few months as it made me look really washed out. Jan 2012:

Back to blonde, hair is still quite short here with shorter extensions, May 2012:

Hair is still quite short and thin, about to my shoulders here with extensions in but it was gradually growing, July 2012:

It was round about October 2012 I ombre'd my hair for the first time which allowed my hair to grow loads and become a lot healthier. I still needed extensions for the first few months about christmas time I stopped wearing them. I no longer dyed my hair loads as I could deal with my roots, they are still a different shade of blonde to my natural blonde but I can deal with it. I did a couple of months ago go back to all over blonde but this time I highlighted my hair but I went back to ombre just because I prefer it. It is less hassle and I love the fact that I don't have to worry about my roots and let my hair grow.

In my pictures recently on my blog apart from one photo I am not wearing extensions my hair is quite long now, it comes to about the end of my bra strap and the back and just above my chest at the front. However from the highlights it did damage it quite a bit and some of the top layers did go quite short. However now my hair is in great condition and is growing again, but I do miss having really long hair thanks to extensions!

I did buy some cheap extensions off eBay but I had so much trouble with them, because of how long my hair has gotten it has gone back to its natural state. When I was younger my hair was quite thick and it has now gone back to this which is great! I love the fact I have really thick hair but it is a nightmare when it comes to extensions. The eBay ones I brought was in 16inch and 20 inch, I think I got a full pack of 16inch and half a pack of 20 but then I brought another pack of 20 because of how thin they were. There must be only about 40g-50g of hair, and they are stupidly thin at the bottom, it just looks weird when I have them in. Even when I curl them it just doesn't look right!

I have therefore been looking at more expensive extensions from websites such as Foxy Locks, Clip Hair, Dirty Locks, Lush etc but I am still undecided on what hair extensions to get. I would want to get 160g or more for my hair as I would need the thickness of it. I just want thicker better quality hair extensions but as I haven't worn any for ages I am not sure what is my best option. Also I am still not 100% sure I want to buy them, but then when I look at images of girls with hair extensions in and it just looks so pretty it makes me want some! Also the fact I never never spent so much on hair extensions it worries me! I think the most I spent was about £50 but this was years ago and even then I felt bad for spending that much!

Then again I could just wait and hope that my hair grows quick! I am still using the Lee Stafford for hair that never grows past a certain length. I did stop using it for a couple of months but I have been using it again. I do notice that my hair does grow a lot faster and with using Bleach London's hair mask treatment my hair is in seriously good condition that I do hope it grows quick! I just miss being able to do loads of different styles with my hair as I think that some styles look a lot better if you have longer hair!

I think I may wait it out for a bit and see how I feel in a few weeks, if I still feel the same I think I will invest in some...

OH decisions decisions...

I decided after months of growing out my fringe to cut it back in. I kept on seeing girls with messy wavy hair similar to how I do mine with fringes and it just looked beautiful! I do feel a little weird when I look into the mirror and I see a fringe but I guess I will get used to it!

Apparently now I look younger?! I don't know if thats a good or bad thing!

Fringe & extensions ^_^

Along with the fringe I brought myself some extensions, which I have been altering the colour. When I first brought them they were an 'ash blonde' apparently... They didn't seem very ash blonde to me as they were quite yellow! I needed to ombre them, I know that you can buy pre-ombred hair extensions but I preferred doing it myself. I dyed the top of them a dark blonde like my natural colour (I worked out how much was needed to be dyed before I did this). I then put a bleach on the rest of the hair and used purple shampoo to tone the yellow down. It is now very close to my very very light blonde ends but it still needs another purple shampoo just to take out a bit more of the yellow.

As my hair is quite thick I have a full head and a half of human hair at two different lengths, 14inch of a full head and 18 inch of half a head, I got them off ebay. However I have trimmed these as the ends weren't very nice and also layered them a little to match the layers in my hair. I also realised after that the 18 inch were a bit too long for me, however because they were slightly cheaper than buying 16 inch I am still glad I went for the 18 inch as I saved a bit of money. When I wear them I make sure that I curl my hair along with the extension hair to make sure it blends in better.

I used to wear extensions every single day when I went to 6th form, college and part of university, however now that my hair is much longer I only wear them occasionally. I may do another post about the different types of hair colours I have had as there has been a few!

I wear them when I feel like my hair just isn't looking right, I also like to wear them when doing a half up half down as I feel it makes the hair style look a lot better as most of my hair is in the layers not in the length. I am growing out my hair, my aim is to have long hair probably just a bit longer than the length in the picture above with the extensions, perhaps another 6-8 inches. I did have to cut quite a bit of my hair off when I used a purple on my ends which then stained my hair blue and refused to budge! I had to cut off about 3 inches which made me so sad! At least my hair is slowly getting to the length I want to to be!

To help with the hair growth I am still using the Lee Stafford for hair that never grows past a certain length I used this every 2-3 days when I wash my hair. I normally leave it on for about an hour while I do a deep condition as well. Since going back to ombre just over a month ago it has grown just over an inch which is the same rate it has been growing since using the product, my hair defiantly does grow a lot quicker! As I only use the hair mask I don't know if using the shampoo and conditioner will make it grow even faster? I may try it!

I haven't done a hair update in agesssss! I am not too sure how long I have been using this product for now.

My hair is still growing, it is now below my bra strap at the back. I hadn't been using it often a few weeks ago for about a month just because of my uni work piling up I needed to have quick showers. Sometimes I would have to be in uni from 8:30 til 8! So the last thing I wanted to do was have a really long shower I just wanted my bed!

I am now back into the routine and it is defiantly growing quicker again. My roots are coming through more from when I tried to dye it lighter a few weeks ago. My layers seem so much longer and so does my fringe!

I haven't straightened my hair in a while just because it is easier to leave it natural and messy/wavy. When I do end up straightening it I shall take a photo to show how long it is now.

Not much has changed from my routine, I am using a silver shampoo at the moment to try to tame the brassiness of the darker blonde that I dye my hair. I am still on the second pot of the product, I am hoping that after the 3rd pot has gone I won't need to buy anymore because it will be the length I want it to be, I hope anyway! I think I have about 5 inches or something until I get to my ideal length, I have decided that I want to longer than what I first planned just because I have never really had naturally long hair.
I think it has been about 8 weeks now since I started using the hair growth treatment. I am still on my first pot so it has lasted 2 months! I have only about one treatment left in the first pot so I am glad that I stocked up on it when Boots had its 2 for 3 offer on.

The longest layers of my hair is now touching my bra at the back so in the past 2 weeks it has grown 1cm-2cm. I hadn't put it on every time I had washed my hair over the past two weeks because I didn't have time to have a long shower where I can wait around for about 10 minutes with it on my hair, and sometimes I have just forgotten! I plan to get back in the routine tomorrow though when I wash my hair.

So over the past about 2 months that I have been using this product it has grown about 2 and half inches to 3 inches maybe. I am really pleased with the results as my hair looks longer and feels like it is a better condition. My fringe is getting really long as well, I am now able to wear it down but curl is slightly so it stays out of my face.

I am looking forward to the next few months where my hair will be getting even longer as my ideal hair length is about another 6 inches. So hopefully this wont take that long to achieve! I am hoping that by my birthday which is in September I will have my ideal hair length. Fingers crossed!

I think I am on week 6 of the update but I am not sure as I have been really busy with uni work. Not much to say really about my hair, I was going to take a photo of my roots but then I decided to try to make my hair lighter last week, which didn't work so I don't have any roots anymore.

I have noticed that the length is a lot longer again, I think it has grown about nearly 2 inches since I started using this product, so it is working out that it is doubling in length almost. I haven't trimmed my hair since I started using it, it really needs a trim because of how fast it is growing so I plan on trimming my hair later on today, just to even everything out.

My hair is nearly to my down to my bra at the back now it is about a cm off which is great! My fringe before I was having trouble wearing it down because it was at that awkward stage, however now I can wear it down. A few bits of my fringe are still a bit short but it is getting really long, most of it is nearly to the end of my nose and some of it is even longer.

My hair seems really thick as well, I used to have thick hair when I was younger which I used to get thinned out a lot because the hair dresser just used to thin it for me without asking, I wish I had said something now! My layers are getting really long I think it feels like they are growing faster than the rest of my hair, but I just think that is because I have a lot of layers in my hair so it is making it seem like that. The shortest layers are to my shoulders now whereas when I started this they were about to my chin.

So there has been a lot of hair growth! I am still doing the same routine when washing my hair with the product. The only thing I have changed is that I will put conditioner on my ends when I have put this on my roots and then I tie my hair up and wash my body etc. Then once I have done this I will wash it off. I have found that this is a lot easier so I am not waiting around for 5 minutes until I can put my conditioner on which I normally leave on for a few minutes. I have about an inch left of it in the pot now so I am glad I brought the other two pots.
Bit behind on my update been rather busy with uni work! I have a few more posts to upload as well when I get the chance, a haul and some reviews to come.

Anyway just over 4 weeks since I have been using this product. I went out and brought some more that was in the 3 for 2 Boots offer, I ended up just getting 2 more pots and something else (which will be featured in the haul post).

I haven't used up the first pot yet, I have just under half of the pot left. So it has lasted me quite well, I think maybe I haven't been putting as much on as some other people who I have seen/read reviews on this product. I have only been putting it on my roots though and massaging it in, I have stopped putting it on the rest of my hair because I feel like I don't need it. My hair is in pretty good condition as it is, I hardly ever put heat on my hair (about once a month normally) I let it dry naturally and I always put on oils and deep conditioning treatments on the ends of the hair. So I feel like putting it on the rest of my hair is just a waste.

Lately I have really noticed how long it is getting which is great! I think maybe it is because I have had my hair in a bun a lot as I haven't been out much so I haven't had the need to have my hair down. I measured my roots at the beginning of the week and they were nearly an inch long which is impressive. It is growing nearly twice as fast I would say as it normally does. I have defiantly noticed my layers getting longer which is making my hair look thicker which I love.

My fringe is still in the awkward stage at the moment so I have been pinning it under some of my hair so it is out of the way. This I feel makes my hair look longer as well as my fringe was quite chunky I had quite a lot of fringe and so when my hair is down it looks like I have really short layers when it is just my fringe. If this makes sense? I have found it a lot easier to wear my hair in a side parting rather than in the middle like I used to because I can pin my fringe easier.

Not much else to say really, I am going to try to take a photo of my roots for the next post to show how much it has grown.
My hair feels like it has grown quite a bit, I haven't measured it this week but I can see that it is defiantly grown a lot since I have been using this product. My hair feels like it is a lot thicker as well, I have quite a few layers in my hair and because of how fast it seems to be growing the layers are growing out which will make it seem thicker. I have noticed that my fringe is getting really long too, it is now nearly to the bottom of my nose and it is much easier to wear I find that I don't have to clip it back.

I think that it also seems thicker because my hair is in a better condition, it feels so soft! I haven't been putting heat on my hair apart from about once a month I like to straighten my hair to see how long it is straight as normally I wear it naturally wavy. The last time I did this (apart from last night) was about a month ago and my hair was about 2 inches off the top of my bra strap, it is now only about half an inch off. So that means that my hair must of grown quite a bit since using this product.

I thought I would take a photo of the back of my hair to show the length it is now and I shall take another photo like this in about a months time. (My room doesn't have very good lighting as I took this at night).

It has been two weeks since I have started to use the Lee Stafford hair growth treatment. I have defiantly noticed a change, my hair feels a lot more healthy, it feels very soft as well.

My hair has grown about half an inch which it does normally grow in a month so it looks like it is growing twice as fast. I want my hair to be about another 6 inches long which is about a years worth of hair growth maybe more because of regular hair cuts. So hopefully this time period will shorten because of using this product.

I have noticed however that my roots seem to need washing after the second day when normally it is the third. This may be because I am not fully washing the product out of my hair so I will have to make sure I wash all of the product out. I may even try washing my hair again with shampoo after as this may help remove all of the product. Or it may be that my hair is getting used to having a different product near my roots apart from shampoo and so it may clear up after my hair has gotten used to it.

I still have a lot of the product left which I am glad because it costs so much! I will try to pick some more up soon so I am ready for when I have ran out. I know that some people I have read/watched talk about this product have used up the tub in about a month. I doubt this will be the case for me as I don't need to wash my hair often and I am only putting it on my roots and a tiny bit on the rest of my hair.

Just a quick update about my hair growth:

I said in my last post about this product that I had noticed my roots coming through. It is quite hard to tell because they are only slightly darker than the dark blonde my hair is dyed. As I had noticed that they had grown quite a bit so I decided to measure how much they have actually grown, I was quite impressed as they have grown about 1/2 an inch. I did try to take a photo of my roots but they weren't showing up very good on camera.

My hair normally grows this much in a month so to grow this in not even two weeks yet I am so impressed! I haven't even used the product that much either, as I wash my hair every 2-3 days. As my hair seems to be growing more quicker because of this product I am wanting to use it more but I am trying to resist the urge!

I have noticed as well that my hair is a lot softer than it used to be. I noticed this mostly yesterday when I washed my hair and left it to dry naturally I couldn't believe how soft it felt once it was nearly completely dry.

Fingers crossed that my hair keeps on growing this fast!

I have been using the Lee Stafford hair growth treatment over the past week now. So far I have noticed that my hair seems to be in better condition, I have only used it 3 times as I wash my hair 2-3 times a week. I have also noticed some slight hair growth.

I have found that the best way to distribute the product is to section off my hair starting from the front and working backwards. I take about a 2 inch section of hair and take a bit of the product (I normally dab my fingers into the product not taking too much and then rub my fingers together) and massage it into the 2 inch section of root and continue this throughout my hair. This way I am making sure that I am massaging the product into all of my root area. I then take the same amount I put on my hair for each root section and distribute this through the rest of my hair. As my hair isn't in a bad condition and I want to stimulate hair growth I put most of the product I use on my roots.

For the hair growth I have noticed that my hair has grown 2-3mm over the past week. I can tell this because my natural hair colour is coming through, it is a dark blonde but a slightly different shade to my dark blonde hair dye that I used to turn my hair ombre. As sometimes my roots annoy me I do dye them with a dark blonde dye, as I did this last week and there was no hair growth when I started using the product I can tell that is has grown.

Hopefully this type of progress will continue, my hair normally grows about half an inch a month so I am hoping by the end of the month it will have grown more than half an inch!

Hello,

I have been growing my hair since about October last year after I decided that dying my hair a light blonde often and wearing extensions wasn't the right path to go down anymore. I therefore changed my hair, dying it a dark blonde near the roots (to match my natural hair colour) and giving it an ombre effect to allow my natural colour a dark blonde to grow through. My hair has seemed to have grown quite a lot since October maybe about 3 inches maybe more, as it was just below my shoulders to begin with. Since I have now decided to grow out my fringe after having it for the last god knows how many years I would like my hair to grow a bit faster and it better condition! I looked up a few different ways to make hair a better condition and for it to grow quicker and I decided to buy this as the reviews I had read/watched were good so I thought I would try it. It says that it will stimulate my roots to allow my hair to grow and to also keep the rest of my hair in a healthy condition.

I brought it from my local boots at £7.99 it was on offer for 3 for 2 but because it was my first time using this product I didn't want to buy loads of tubs of it just in case it didn't work on my hair. I have only used the product twice so far as I brought it at the beginning of the week. I normally wash my hair every 2-3 days and so I plan to use the hair treatment each day I wash it.

It says that you need to use an 'egg' sized amount and leave it on the hair for 5 minutes. I did not use an egg sized amount I think that an egg size would be far too much product to use on my length of hair. I therefore took small amounts of the product and worked it into my hair until it felt like the roots were covered, I then finger combed my hair to distribute the remaining product that was left on my hands through the rest of my hair.

I found the product to be a great consistency, it wasn't too runny nor too thick. Although I am not a fan of pink I found the packaging and colour of the product not too bad. I did make me feel quite girly! I have read about some people not liking the scent of the product or loving it. To be honest I expected it to smell quite floral because of the pink theme but this is not the case. I can't quite put my finger on what it actually smells like but the scent isn't bad at all. I did find that the scent is sometimes left in my hair, but when I use the other products I put on my hair it fades slightly.

So far I have found that my hair feels a lot smoother and healthier obviously there is no rapid hair growth! It isn't going to make my hair be mermaid length in just a few washes. However it will hopefully stimulate my roots to make hair grow! So I am hoping that my hair will grow a bit faster and healthier than it normally does! My hair grows about half an inch or so each month now with this product hopefully a bit more. I shall be writing on here my hair progress to see what happens!

(Sorry for the dark photos I took them at night! I shall replace them)
